Single Hauler Public Feedback Meetings

The City of Fountain is seeking citizen feedback!

April 2021, FOUNTAIN, CO:  The Fountain City Council recently approved a plan to further study, evaluate and gather citizen feedback regarding  an option to move the community to a single hauler for city waste collection.   Under a single hauler concept, the City would competitively select one waste collection company to provide waste collection services to the community.  The goal of this initiative would be to lower waste removal costs for residents, reduce wear and tear caused by heavy vehicle traffic on Fountain roads and streets, and enhance road maintenance and street projects within the municipality.
As part of the consideration process, the City is encouraging feedback from Fountain residents regarding the single hauler concept, and is hosting several community feedback meetings to provide the opportunity for citizen input.
Residents will have multiple opportunities to learn more about the single hauler concept and provide their feedback, to include two Community Feedback Meetings, on Monday, April 5th and Friday, April 9th 2021.

Community meetings will be open to in-person attendance, and will also have a virtual participation option.  Citizens who would like to attend in-person are encouraged to call 719-322-2019 or 719-322-2000 to register, as seating will be limited due to COVID-19 safety precautions. Virtual participants can register here to join the April sessions online, or by clicking the registration link that will be provided on the City's website the week prior to the meetings.

The City has already completed a Feasibility Study, which you can download here.
