On Friday, June 12, 2020, Governor Polis issued a revised Executive Order (D 2020 098), outlining new directives for public utilities across the State of Colorado.

Governor Polis’s previously issued order required Colorado public utilities to halt service disconnections due to non-payment and waive fees associated with late payments and re-connection of service.  The revised order does not extend the stay placed on service disconnections; therefore, allowing public utilities to resume service disconnections related to non-payment as of June 15, 2020.

The City of Fountain continues to work with its utility customers to ensure their service is maintained during this time.  Customers subject to their service being disconnected for non-payment have been, and will continue to be, provided with multiple forms of communication (i.e. first-class mail, phone, email, etc.) regarding their past-due balance and available resources.

The City of Fountain continues to offer payment arrangements to any customer seeking an extension on their bill, and assistance is available through its Lighten the Load program.  Lighten the Load is a utilities payment assistance program that assists eligible customers with up to $500 towards their past-due balance. Customers seeking payment assistance may visit us online at FountainUtilities.org, or by contacting one of our partner agencies directly: The Salvation Army of the Fountain Valley at (719) 382-1182; or, REACH Pikes Peak at (719) 382-8515.
