Kids at ParkSince the 1990’s the city has been experiencing double-digit growth, reaching 32,151 today. 

The city serves as the commercial spine to the greater Fountain Valley. The Valley is comprised of both unincorporated El Paso county and City of Fountain,  gravitating a population of 109,639.

The city's origin began as a suburban market, as a natural neighbor to the Fort Carson Army Installation and a part of the overall Colorado Springs MSA region. Today, the city has grown into a vital economic engine contributing to regional business development initiatives; whereby cultivating healthy job creation and expanding quality of life services/amenities for our community.

The City of Fountain has 6 distinct commercial development areas to encourage business fulfillment for job creation and avail community goods and services.  These areas include:

  • N. US 85 Opportunity Zone
  • INFILL/ Mesa Ridge
  • Olde Town
  • Southern Colorado Dual Service Rail Park
  • Pikes Peak International Raceway

Growth ProjectionsBy the year 2050, a 51,300 population has been forecasted for the City of Fountain and respective growth for the greater Fountain Valley, Pikes Peak region, and Front-Range Colorado corridor.

This means a continuing great opportunity for business development and lifestyle services needs of the community.

With our community segment profiles concentrated in "Up and Coming Families" and "Middleburg" populous segments; reflective of an average age of 32 and active wage-earner lifestyles, retail is a sweet spot in our economy.
