Placemaking Event - The City Needs Your Opinion!

FOUNTAIN, COLORADO - The City of Fountain wants your opinion!  On Monday, September 21st, the city will launch a “Placemaking” initiative, as a part of a grant from the State to furt
her the vision of the city’s center, known as the Olde Town District.  Building off Fountain City Council’s adoption of design and aesthetics guidelines in 2019, the City is now working on ideas to improve the overall pedestrian experience along Ohio Ave in the Old Town area.

Beginning Monday, the City will have on display in front of City Hall various Informational Boards, 5 of them to be exact, with ideas about what the Ohio corridor could look like in the future.  Fountain residents are invited to come see the boards (at a safe social distance, of course!), and will have the chance to provide feedback on what they think via a survey.   The displays will remain in front of City Hall the week of September 21st to September 25th, and will then move to John Metcalfe Park on Saturday, September 26th to join the Community Market.

Feedback from the public will then be incorporated into new boards and the displays will return to City Hall the week of October 19th, for a new round of survey and feedback.  As a bonus, these revised displays will join the region’s Arts Month, with various art related activities occurring that week vicinity Ohio Ave and Fountain City Hall.

If you have any questions, you can reach EcoDev/FURA directly at (719) 322-2056.

Of course all of the display material and surveys will be available digitally, at:
