Fountain Mesa Road Closures Expected in June

Fountain Mesa Road Closures Expected in June
Posted on 05/31/2019

Frequent road repairs occur along the southern portions of Fountain Mesa Road due to aging water pipes and connections that break, causing leaks, water outages and unexpected road closures.

During the month of June, Native Sun Construction, on behalf of the City of Fountain Water Utility, will be performing construction work for the Fountain Mesa Road Service Line Replacement Project.

This work will take place along Fountain Mesa Road, between Harvest Moon Road and Ohio Avenue. Construction activity is expected to last for four (4) weeks,
occurring primarily between the hours of 7 A.M and 7 P.M. Monday through Friday for the duration of the project. Evening or weekend construction activity may be required.

Construction activities will focus on replacing aging water service pipes located beneath the streets and sidewalks. These aging pipes and connections are prone to failure, causing leaks which inconvenience you, your neighbors and the public with water outages and unexpected road closures.

For the duration of this Project, sections of Fountain Mesa Road will be closed to thru traffic south of Harvest Moon Road. Detours will route traffic through Blossom Field Road, Rye Ridge Road and Autumn Place. Additionally, traffic will be shifted and speed limits will be reduced between Blossom Field Road and Ohio Ave.

After the completion of water service pipe replacements, the City of Fountain Streets Department will begin the repaving of Fountain Mesa Road from Ohio Avenue to Harvest Moon Road. This work is expected to begin later this summer, dependent on weather and other factors.
