City of Fountain - Pure Colorado

Fountain's Farmers Hydrant:

Fountain established a bulk water fill station in the early 60s to assist local farmers within Fountain's City limits with an additional water source whereby farmers could fill up their water tanks for irrigation and watering livestock.  Over the years, this bulk water fill station has become known as the City of Fountain's Farmers Hydrant.  The Farmers Hydrant originally started with a coin operation system; however, in 2003 the City converted its coin operation to the Cashless Card System.  The Farmers Hydrant Rules & Regulations and costs associated with using this facility are listed in the Related Pages below.

Fountain is glad to assist construction companies when new construction projects are conducted within the City.  To keep dust to a minimum and provide a temporary water supply, construction companies may request water from the City of Fountain.  To request a fire hydrant meter, please contact the Water Department at (719) 322-2073, which is located at 415 West Alabama Street in Fountain to schedule a pick-up.  For more information regarding the costs and criteria associated with renting a fire hydrant, please review the Related Pages for additional information.
